This version brings a new way to see what each MIDI channel’s playing – by showing each channel’s waveform! Check the “Interface” tab of the config window to use it. It also fixes crashing with invalid skin image files, no longer plays noise-based instruments (e.g. Seashore) on the PC speaker, and puts the font back to how it used to be in revision 103, until I can properly fix the awful line spacing issue that was causing text to get cut off or appear on top of other text in revision 104. Full details of the 7 changes are below the page break!

As usual, you can grab the latest version from here (6.76 MB).
EDIT: Whoops! The EXEs are now updated to show version 105 instead of 104. Also, when showing a waveform for each MIDI channel, if the channel is silent, the vertical waveform line is now drawn in a darker shade of yellow to match the design of the “centre” lines shown for for pan/modulation/pitch-bends. The idea is to make it look less messy when glancing over the window due to the many light yellow lines.
- Font changed back to Mikachan for now, as the line spacing of “MS Sans Serif” was not consistent between computers for some reason, causing text to appear too low down and either get cut off or draw over the MIDI channel numbers. This will require some more research to fix.
- Warning is now shown for a while on main window if CPU usage by the sound thread (FMOD) reaches 100%, causing sound to stutter.
- Change “MIDI channel enabled” to “MIDI channel unmuted” to avoid confusion by using different words to mean the same thing.
- If a file (e.g. image) doesn’t exist in the chosen skin’s folder, Bawami will now fall back to the equivalent file in the default skin’s folder instead.
- New option to display a waveform for each MIDI channel instead of single/multiple note volume bars! This waveform represents the final sound for that MIDI channel (after filters and distortion) before it is potentially sent to the chorus/reverb effect, because after that point, the sound of all MIDI channels is mixed together and can’t be accessed individually. This option uses much more CPU time.
- PC speaker no longer plays notes for noise-based instruments (e.g. Seashore).
- No longer crashes if there’s a problem loading an image for a skin. A message is shown (and logged) instead, which is intended to help fix the error.
Hi,
When i start BaWaMi i get a runtime error 429: Can’t create ActiveX Object.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
What should i do to make it work?
Hi,
Are you running Bawami as an administrator? Also, could you please send me “debuglog.txt” from the folder? It sounds like one of the OCX or DLL files hasn’t been installed properly, but debuglog.txt should let me see which one. Bawami tries to install these when it first starts, but it only can if it’s run as an admin. But perhaps it failed to install them for some other reason.

Was there more to this? I’m getting the same error and I can’t figure it out.
Unfortunately not – PimDows never did get back to me. =/
When im trying to start BaWaMi i get a run-time error “57″: Device I/O error
What should i do?
Hmm, that’s interesting. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of a reason. Could you please send me “debuglog.txt” from Bawami’s folder?
